Around Halloween and All Saints’ Day, Florence offers many cultural events, exhibitions and concerts.
Here are some of the scheduled events to give you an idea of what happens at this time of year.
Free museums in Florence: Sunday November 3, 2024, museums in Florence will offer free entry to visitors for a day to celebrate and promote the city’s cultural heritage.
All the city’s main museums, galleries and sights will be open for free, including the Uffizi, the Duomo, the Museo dell’Accademia (with Michelangelo’s famous statue of David), Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli gardens.
At Palazzo Strozzi there is the temporary exhibition Helen Frankenthaler: Dipingere senza regole (Painting without Rules), a large exhibition dedicated to one of the most important American artists of the last century.
At Palazzo Pitti, the Museum of Costume and Fashion is back open with a new layout, having been closed for four years.
The Ferragamo Museum will be hosting the exhibition “Salvatore Ferragamo 1898 – 1960”.
If you love musicals, Teatro Verdi will be showing “Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie” (Alice in Wonderland) from October 31 to November 1.
While the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino will be showing Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly until November 2.
If you love watching plays at the theater, Teatro La Pergola will be showing Eduardo De Filippo’s masterpiece “Ditegli sempre di sì” (Always Say Yes) until November 2.
