Around the city of Giglio there are several golf courses among the largest and most extensive in Tuscany.
In the valle del Mugello there is the Poggio dei Medici (Par 73, 6,472 m, 18 holes). The course offers 5 different starting tees for an exciting game at any level. The course has a large practice space, with Pitching and Putting Greens, bunkers, 6 covered and 24 uncovered stations, with a PGA instructor available for individual and group lessons. The course is open all year, every day and is 100% organic. It was also recognized at the World Golf Awards as Italy's Best Golf Course in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
As you head towards Prato, you will find Le Pavoniere Golf & Country Club, a rolling fairway that runs alongside an ancient park, with 18 holes and greens protected by treacherous bunkers.
Finally, not to be missed is the beautiful Ugolino Golf Club, a historic course that dates back to 1933 and was designed by two architects from across the Channel, Cecil Blandford from England and Peter Gannon from Ireland. Listed as one of the 50 most beautiful golf courses in the world, Ugolino offers 18 holes (Par 72, 5,672 m) with a view of the spectacular hills of Impruneta: the natural differences in elevation and the incredible view have made this course so irresistible, it has hosted several international Open tournaments over the years.
For lovers of this sport, Tuscany is one of the ideal destinations to test your limits - while simultaneously letting you get some rest and enjoy a holiday focused on relaxing and art in the hills around Florence.
